Adj. Prof. Dr. Martin Haemmig is an international expert on Venture Capital & Corporate-VC and Startups Going Global and he is a Global Network Partner at GLORAD—‘Global R&D and Innovation’ (www.glorad.org). He was an Adjunct Professor at CeTIM in The Netherlands and an advisor to corporate CVC-units and global VC-firms, as well as to governments and VC associations in Asia, Europe, Israel, and USA. He was a university lecturer and VC/CVC trainer on “Entrepreneurship & VC/CVC & Globalizing Startups”. He is a private angel investor to global deep-tech startups.

Over the past two decades, he has collaborated in long-term programs at the World Economic Forum (WEF) and Stanford University (Senior Advisor on Venture Capital) etc., conducting research across thousands of startups spanning the globe. He specializes in VC & CVC trends and benchmarks the industry globally. He lectured and or researched at leading universities throughout the world (Stanford University, UC Berkeley, INSEAD, UniBW Munich, ETH Zurich, as well as at China’s Peking University, Tsinghua, Renmin, Fudan and JiaoTong University, plus India’s IITs IIMs and ISB).  Furthermore, he lectured and trained VCs/CVCs, LPs and entrepreneurs at domestic VC Associations (U.S., Europe, China, India, etc.), as part of his 5-7 months annual global travels.

Adj. Prof. Dr. Martin Haemmig is author for books on ‘The Globalization of Venture Capital’ (English & Chinese), as well as for book chapters and articles on the various venture capital ecosystems. He is a co-founding professor of the world’s first doctoral degree program on Venture Capital (Renmin University, Beijing) and was then appointed as advisor for China’s largest science park (Zhongguancun in Beijing). Many of his papers, book, articles, etc. got also translated into Chinese.

As of his 2021 retirement, Adj. Prof. Dr. Martin Haemmig stopped teaching but ‘keeps’ his global VC/CVC & Startup research, the global conferences and his support for globalizing deep-tech startups & scaleups. The focus is on ‘co-creation’ with corporates/multinationals in their ‘Digital Transformation’ phase and need to embrace innovation more radically, in conjunction with speedy and creative startups & scaleups.

Adj. Prof. Dr. Martin Haemmig earned his electronics degree in Switzerland, his MBA and doctorate in California and is a graduate from the Board Management School at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. He worked for 20 years in global high-tech companies around the world and obtained the Swiss National Marketing Champion award in 1994, before returning to academia from 2000 to 2020.
