Fabian Baumer is a lawyer and a certified tax expert. He has been a vice-director with the Swiss Federal Tax Administration (FTA) since 2008 and heads the tax policy division. Prior to joining the FTA, Fabian Baumer worked for an international law firm in Zurich and Washington, D.C., and as head of legal for a cantonal tax authority.
Fabian Baumer is a member of the extra-parliamentary Committee for the Harmonization of the Direct Taxes of the Confederation, the Cantons and the Municipalities as well as a member of the executive committee at the Institute for Public Finance, Finance Law and Law and Economics at the University of St. Gallen. He is engaged in lecturing, research and publishing in the area of tax policy.
